I am PU3GAP - Amilton Passos ∴
I am a veteran of the Brazilian Army. I am a writer and historian. I was a musician and conductor of a military symphony orchestra. I was a military motorcycle rider for the Army Police, a pilot instructor, and Iron Butt USA member No. 11,309. I served as a security guard for military authorities and dignitaries.

In the 1970s, influenced by my father, I began listening to radio stations in OC, now officially with the callsign SWLR - PY3387SWL.
In 1985, I became a CB radio operator - PX3Q068.
In 2000, I became a Class D radio amateur - ZZ3AMP.
In 2011, I became a Class C radio amateur - PU3GAP.

In 2008, I was awarded the Padre Roberto Landell de Moura Medal by LABRE-RJ.
In 2017, I was awarded the ESCOM FRIEND DIPLOMA and, later, the TITLE of Member of the Order of Knights of the Brazilian Army Communications School by ESCOM (Brazilian Army Communications School).

Today I volunteer in philanthropic humanitarian aid activities.
I enjoy traveling with my family, always taking my mobile station to contact friends in other regions of the world.
Amateur radio is a big family.

I operate in HF, VHF, UHF, Digital Voice, DMR, DSTAR, FT8, FT4, MSFK, APRS, CA4FM, PSK, WSPR, EchoLink, Peanut, Zello, and Satellite modes.

I thank my "godfathers" PY3LK Jairo, PY3RG Rogério, and PY3DXM Daniel, who taught me this journey.

To all of you, my 73/51 and we'll meet you any time on the airwaves.

Remember: A space between gears saves lives!
