About me
As a young boy growing up in the eighties, I was already captivated by the world of communication
technology, eagerly experimenting with CB radios and antennas. Today, I work at the TU Wien
(Austria’s largest technical research and education institution), where my research is dedicated to
risk management and disaster prevention. In an era marked by increasingly frequent natural and
man-made disasters, often with far-reaching consequences for critical infrastructure, I am deeply
intrigued by the potential that the amateur radio service holds as a crucial component of emergency
communication.
Since 2021, I have proudly served as a member of the Vienna Emergency Communications Team
and the A.R.E.N.A. Network (Amateur Radio Emergency Network Austria). My aim is not only to
contribute significantly to our society's disaster resilience through my research but also as an active
ham radio operator.
In Oct. 2023 I have been appointed as Deputy Head of the Vienna Emergency Communications Team.
From time to time, I operate our club station at TU Wien, primarily during contests or emergency
exercises.
