The Nicosia Contest Group was initially formed in 1995 by 5B4WN, 5B4XF, 5B4ADA, 5B4LP, 5B4AFM and 5B4AHZ (formerly 5B8AH). Over the years the initial founding members scattered all over the world and the NCG languished.



Following many years of relative inactivity, the NCG was reformed by a new group of radio amateurs (5B4MF, 5B4AFM, 5B4KH, 5B4ZN, 5B4AHE, 5B4AHZ, and 5B8AP) with a common interest the promotion of the art of contesting.

The Nicosia Contest Group is the first bi-communal amateur radio group of Cyprus, as the NCG members are comprised of both Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.
